Men's Lacrosse Upended in Sudden Death

With the loss, Curry falls to 3-10 overall on the season and 0-5 in the CCC.
Curry's only first quarter goal came from the stick of junior Nick Perfetuo (Norwell, Mass.), but Wentworth held a 3-1 lead after the first 15 minutes.
The Colonel offense came to life in quarter number two, as the hosts outscored Wentworth 5-2 in the period to carry a 6-5 lead into halftime. Sam LaPrise (Windsor, Conn.), Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.), Sam Nielsen (Fairfield, Conn.), Robbie Tartaglia (Wrentham, Mass.), and Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.) all scored for Curry in the quarter.
Wentworth rallied in the third quarter, retaking the lead by outscoring the Colonels 6-2 to take an 11-8 lead into the fourth. Bryant and Stackhouse netted the Curry goals in the third.
Curry found a new gear in the fourth, outscoring Wentworth 4-1 to force overtime. The Colonels trailed by a score of 12-8 with just under 12 minutes to play before a goal from Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.) and the first two goals of the season from Pat Modoono (Billerica, Mass.) cut the lead to 12-11. With 5:11 to play, Perfetuo's second of the game tied the score at 12-12 to force overtime.
In the extra session, the Leopards needed just one shot and one possession to net the winner. Wentworth's Erik Madden netted the game-winner 1:07 into the overtime to seal the victory.
In net, Curry sophomore Evan Falandys (Leominster, Mass.) made 14 saves on 24 shots faced in 56:19 and took the loss, falling to 3-6 overall on the season.
Curry will return to the action on Saturday to host Gordon College at 1:30 p.m. at Walter M. Katz Field.
