DUDLEY, Mass. - The Curry College men's lacrosse team dropped an 11-9 decision to Nichols College Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Venditti Field.
With the defeat, Curry drops to 3-9 overall on the season and continues to seek its first league win of the season, moving to 0-4.
Junior Nick Perfetuo (Norwell, Mass.) opened the scoring for Curry just over six minutes into the contest, but Nichols battled back to score four of the next five goals to lead 4-2 after one quarter. Junior Robbie Tartaglia (Wrentham, Mass.) scored the other first quarter tally for the Colonels.
Curry faceoff specialist Sawyer Allen (Sutton, Mass.) scored a pair of goals in the second quarter as the Bison and Colonels each scored twice to head to the half with the hosts holding a 6-4 lead.
Sophomore Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.) scored his eighth goal of the season in the third, but Nichols found the net three times in the period to take a 9-5 lead into the fourth.
Freshman Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.) scored three goals in the fourth, while Allen completed his hat trick in the game's final minute, but Curry's comeback bid would fall short as Nichols escaped with an 11-9 victory.
