Men's Lacrosse Falls Short Against Clark

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's lacrosse team was slipped up by Clark University by a final score of 11-8 Wednesday evening in non-conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the defeat, Curry dips to 3-5 overall on the season.

The first quarter was a low-scoring affair, with the Cougars outpacing the Colonels 2-1. Freshman Tim Sullivan (East Walpole, Mass.) scored the only tally for the hosts in the opening 15 minutes.

Each team scored three times in the second quarter. Curry freshman Josh Hunter (East Bridgewater, Mass.) scored once, followed by two goals from classmate Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.). Dalzell's second goal of the period was an impressive buzzer-beater from distance, pulling the Colonels to within one goal at 5-4 at the break.

Curry was able to tie the score heading to the fourth by topping Clark 3-2 in the third. Sullivan scored Curry's first two markers of the period before junior Robbie Tartaglia (Wrentham, Mass.) evened the score late in the frame.

The visitors scored the first four goals of the fourth quarter to pull away and secure the win. Senior Dane Hanson (East Providence, R.I.) scored Curry's only goal of the quarter with 17 seconds remaining to give the game its final score of 11-8.

Sophomore Evan Falandys (Leominster, Mass.) took the loss between the pipes for the Colonels despite making 10 saves.

Curry will return to action on Saturday when they open conference play on the road against Salve Regina University. Faceoff from Rhode Island is scheduled for 5 p.m.
