Men's Lacrosse Marches Past Cadets

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's lacrosse team fended off a strong second half surge to defeat Norwich University 11-8 Friday afternoon in non-conference action at Walter M. Katz Field.

With the win, Curry moves back above .500 with a record of 3-2, and hand the Cadets (3-1) their first loss of the season.

The first half was all Curry, as the hosts jumped out to a 5-1 advantage by the time the horn sounded for halftime. Dane Hanson (East Providence, R.I.) scored a pair in the first half for the Colonels, while Brody Dalzell (Wrentham, Mass.), Sam Nielsen (Fairfield, Conn.), and Tom Daigle (The Woodlands, Texas) all added single tallies.

Hanson, Nielsen, and Connor Bryant (Methuen, Mass.) all scored in the first two minutes of the third quarter as Curry jumped out to an 8-1 advantage before Norwich began on the comeback trail. The Cadets scored seven of the game's next eight goals to cut their deficit down to just 9-8 with 7:45 to play.

Curry halted the comeback bid in the waning minutes as Bryant and Dalzell each added their second goals of the afternoon down the stretch to seal Curry's 11-8 victory.

In net, the win was credited to sophomore Evan Falandys (Leominster, Mass.), who stopped five of the six shots he faced in the first half. He was relieved by senior Bobby Cannan (Bernardsville, N.J.), who stopped six shots.

The Colonels will travel to Texas for their next contest, taking on Southwestern on March 16. Faceoff is slated for 8 p.m. Eastern.
