WORCESTER, Mass. – The Curry College men's lacrosse team lost a 13-6 non-league contest at Clark University on Wednesday night. With the victory, the Cougars improve to 3-4 overall while the Colonels dip to 3-4.

Junior Chris Rasco (Huntington, N.Y.) scored a game-high nine goals and four others found the scoring column to lead Clark. The Cougars outshot Curry 42-23 in the contest.

Six different Colonels found the back of the net in the game to pace the offense. Junior Kyle Ton (Norwich, Conn.), junior Jake Stebbins (Colchester, Vt.), sophomore Matthew Scahill (Gales Ferry, Conn.), senior Devin Newell (Medford, Mass.), senior Zach White (Milford, Conn.), and senior Kyle Lussier (Topsham, Maine) each netted a goal for the visitors. Junior Harrison Fallon (Wrentham, Mass.), freshman Mic Curran (Arlington, Mass.), and Scahill also recorded assists to round out the point recorders.

Rasco netted a hat trick less than five minutes into the opening quarter. The junior opened the scoring with a goal just 38 seconds in off a pass from senior Jack Pierce (Westborough, Mass.). He then netted his second with 10:45 left and then scored 44 seconds later to complete the hat trick. Lussier halted the Cougar run with a marker with 9:11 remaining in the stanza. Senior Sam Wogan (Freeport, Maine), Rasco, and junior Andrew Hollerbach (West Hartford, Conn.) each scored one to give Clark a 3-0 run and a 6-1 advantage after one.

Rasco scored the lone goal from either side in the second quarter to push the Cougar lead to 7-1. The tally was assisted by junior Jack Mandracchia (Melrose, Mass.) with 1:39 left before the halftime intermission.

Curry outscored Clark 3-2 in the third quarter to pull to within five. Ton opened the stanza with a marker off a helper from Curran. Rasco and Mandracchia answered back with single markers to push the lead back to seven, but unassisted goals from White and Stebbins in the final 10 minutes of the frame cut the deficit to five, 9-4, with one quarter remaining.

The Cougars closed out the game, outscoring the Colonels 4-2 in the last stanza. Rasco netted three more to cap an impressive offensive game. Senior Brandon King (Eastham, Mass.) also scored in the final quarter to cap the scoring column. Newell and Scahill tallied markers for Curry to close out the scoring for the road squad.

Senior Nathan Maselek (Marblehead, Mass.) was credited with the victory in the cage, registering eight saves in 30 minutes of action. Senior Josh Teller (Milford, Conn.) picked up the loss, making 14 saves. White led the Colonels with four ground balls.

Curry will open Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play on Saturday, March 23 at Endicott College at 3:00 p.m. Clark will next visit Roger Williams University on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
