HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College powered to a 21-8 victory over Curry College on Tuesday night in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Jessee/Miller Field.

Senior Ben Knaus (Ross, Calif.) finished with four goals and one assist to lead the Bantams (1-0 overall). Sophomore Drew Kozub (Hopkinton, Mass.) contributed four goals while Sean Sperzel (Foxboro, Mass.), Andrew Collins (Brookfield, Conn.), Mackenzie Deane (New Canaan, Conn.), and Connor McCulloch (Alexandria, Va.) added two goals apiece while five others found the scoring column with a single tally for Trinity. Goalie junior Brady Burke (Duxbury, Mass.) was credited the win as he made 12 saves. 

Senior MJ Urbano (Wakefield, Mass.) paced the Colonels (1-2 overall) with two goals and two assists. Junior Kyle Ton (Norwich, Conn.) picked up two goals while senior Devin Newell (Medford, Mass.) was the final Curry student-athlete with multiple points on one goal and one assist. Juniors Andrew DeLeary (Wakefield, Mass.), Jake Stebbins (Colchester, Vt.), and Cameron Nigro (Scarborough, Maine) registered the final points for the Colonels. Freshman goalie Bobby Cannan (Bernardsville, N.J.) made nine saves against 19 total shots in the loss.

Curry led 3-1 after the opening quarter but Trinity pulled away in the second stanza, outscoring the Colonels 9-2 en route to a 10-5 halftime advantage. Knaus scored four goals while Kozub finished with three in the frame for the Bantams.

Trinity kept its foot on the gas pedal, outscoring Curry 7-0 in the third quarter to build a 12-goal lead, 17-5. The Colonels snapped the scoring drought with a man-up tally from Stebbins to keep the game at a 12 goal margin with 10:04 left in regulation. Ton followed with his first goal of the contest. The assist was credited to Urbano to cut the deficit to 11 with 7:42 remaining. The Bantams then finished the game on a 3-1 spurt over the final 6:36 to seal the win. Ton scored the final goal for Curry.

Trinity senior Scott Morgan (East Grand Rapids, Mich.) won 20 of 22 face-offs and finished with a game-high 13 ground balls. The Colonels went 2-for-6 on man-up opportunities while the Bantams finished 1-for-5.

Curry will next play at home against M.I.T. on Thursday, March 7 at 4:00 p.m. Trinity opens conference play on Saturday, March 9 at 1:00 p.m. with a road contest at Williams.
