MILTON, Mass. - Senior Harrison Foster (Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) scored a man-up goal with 1:11 to play to give the Curry College Colonels a 7-6, come-from-behind victory over the visiting University of Southern Maine Huskies in non-conference men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field.

The win was the third straight for the Colonels, and improved their overall record to 3-1.  The winless Huskies dropped their third straight game.

With the specter of overtime looming, Curry went on a man-up opportunity with 2:02 to play.  Foster got the ball behind the Huskies goal and circled out front to beat USM sophomore goalie Ryan Jurgelevich (Portland, Maine) over the right shoulder from in close.  The Colonels won the ensuing faceoff and were able to run out the clock to preserve the win.

In the fourth quarter, Southern Maine overcame a one-goal deficit to grab a 6-5 lead on goals by junior Burleigh Desjardins (Brunswick, Maine) and sophomore Austin Watts (Westbrook, Maine).  Senior Connor Arnold (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) scored a man-up goal for Curry to tie the score with 6:34 to play and set the stage for Foster.

Arnold led the Colonels' offense finding the back of the net three times, twice in man-up situations.  Foster also had three points on his game-winning goal and two assists.  Freshman John McMenomey (West Linn, Ore.) chipped in with two goals.  Junior Ronald Jensen (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville Community) had a goal and an assist.  Sophomore goalie Timothy McNair (Wilmette, Ill./Kimball Union Academy) made eight saves to earn his third win of the campaign.

Watts had two goals to lead the Huskies. Desjardins, freshmen Tyler Jamison (West Gardiner, Maine/Gardiner Area) and Seth Wing (West Gardiner, Maine/Gardiner Area), and senior Dylan Kenney (Portland, Maine) each had one goal.  Rookie Keegan Smith (West Gardiner, Maine/Gardiner Area) had two assists.

For the third straight game, Jurgelevich established a new career-high for saves stopping 18 Colonel shots.

Curry held a wide edge in shots out shooting USM 49-23, and converted on three of 10 man-up chances.  The home side also had a 27-17 advantage in ground balls and was successful on 21 of 24 clear attempts.  USM was successful on 11 of 12 clear attempts and had one man-up goal in two attempts.

Curry heads south to Charlotte, N.C., where it faces Becker College on Monday (1:15 p.m.) and Manhattanville College on Wednesday (6:45 p.m.).Southern Maine returns to action on Thursday (4:30 p.m.) when its plays Saint Joseph's College (Me.) at Memorial Stadium in Portland. (Recap courtesy of USM Sports Information)
