Soderwall Finalist for AHCA Sid Watson Award

Curry College goaltender Shane Soderwall is among thirteen players named finalists for the 2025 Sid Watson Award, given annually to the country's best NCAA Division II-III men's ice hockey player. Sponsored by the American Hockey Coaches Association, the Sid Watson Award honors the memory of former Bowdoin College head coach and athletic director Sid Watson. The recipient of this year's award will be announced during this year's NCAA Division III Ice Hockey Frozen Four later in the month.

In addition to leading the Colonels to their first divisional championship since 2011, Soderwall, the Conference of New England Goalie and Player of the Year has been a top goaltender in all of college ice hockey throughout the 2024-25 campaign. The four-time CNE Goalie of the Week has a Curry College record eight shutouts this season, with a record 13 throughout his two-year career. Soderwall's 23-3 record gives him an impressive .885 win percentage and 1.47 goals-against average. Additionally, the First Team All-Conference goalie has made 622 saves with a .944 save percentage this season.

Soderwall and the number one-ranked Colonels face off against number nine-ranked Hamilton in a home showdown at the Canton Ice House in the quarterfinals of the 2025 NCAA Championship Tournament this Saturday, March 22nd, beginning at 3 p.m.
