Soderwall Earns Second CNE Goalie of the Week Nomination

For the second time this season, sophomore goaltender Shane Soderwall (Algonquin, Ill.) has been named Conference of New England Men's Ice Hockey Goalie of the Week, announced by the league offices on Tuesday afternoon.

Soderwall had 31 saves in Friday's 6-0 victory over Nichols, posting his fifth shutout win of the season and 10 shutouts throughout his collegiate career, both of which tie the Curry College record for any goaltender.

In 15 starts this season, Soderwall boasts a 12-3 record with a .948 save percentage, making 384 saves while allowing just 21 goals for an average of only 1.45 goals against per game. Soderwall's efforts rank among the top goaltenders this season as he helps the Colonels rank #7 and #8 in this week's USCHO and DIIIHockeyNews polls.

The Curry College men's ice hockey team returns to the ice on Friday, January 24th, to take on Johnson & Wales in a road game beginning at 7 p.m.
