Canton, MA - The Curry Men's Hockey team won their fifth straight game on Friday, beating Nichols 6-0. With the win, the Colonels are now 13-3-0 on the season, and 7-2-0 in CNE play. The Bison are now 5-8-2 and 2-5-2. During this win streak, the Colonels are outscoring their opponents 27-6.

It didn't take long for the Colonels to grab a lead, as they started things off less than two minute in on a Killian Rowlee goal assisted by Taurin Haddon-Harris. Haddon-Harris would pick up another assist later in the period when Alex Duncan made it 2-0 with two minutes left in the period. The Colonels would get one more goal in the first, as Nolan McDonough scored with 30 seconds left in the period off assists from Karim Gayfullin and George Vonakis.

The Colonels would continue to build their lead in the second, as Gage Dill scored after the Bison failed a clear attempt, instead putting it right on Dill's stick, who fired it home. Two more goals were scored by the Colonels in the third, just seconds apart. Matt Connor struck first, and then Ben Biester would score off the following faceoff. The game would then begin to get chippy, as the two teams combined for 71 penalty minutes in the third period.

The Colonels outshot the Bison 33-31, while the Bison won the faceoff battle 35-29.

Shane Soderwall made history, posting his 10th career shutout, making 31 saves. With the shutout he tied Lenny Mosca (2002-2006) for most career shutouts. Mosca got his 10 shutouts in 90 career games, while Soderwall posted his 10th shutout in his 33rd career start. It was also his fifth shutout of the season, tying his own record from last year.

Up Next - The Colonels will return to the ice next Friday when they travel to Johnson & Wales for a 7pm start.
