Cortland, NY - After suffering a loss on Saturday to SUNY Cortland, the Curry Men's Hockey team bounced back on Sunday, handing the Red Dragons a 5-1 loss. The Colonels are now 8-2 on the season, while the Red Dragons are 6-3.
Curry coach Peter Roundy shuffled up his lines for this game, and it made a difference almost immediately. The Colonels scored 12 minutes into the game, as Eelis Laaksonen scored his 7th goal of the season. That goal was assisted by Killian Rowlee and Casper Soderling. Just minutes later, Rowlee would have another assist, this time on a Max Lundgren goal. It was a similar story in the second period, as the Colonels would score midway through the period, and follow it up with a second goal minutes later. This time it was Ryan Prewitt and Alex Duncan scoring to give the Colonels a 4-0 lead. The Red Dragons would score right as a Curry power play ended early in the third, but the Colonels would get the goal right back, scoring on a power play goal by Gage Dill.
The Red Dragons outshot the Colonels 33-22, but Shane Soderwall was back to playing like one of the best goalies in the country, stopping 32 of the shots.
Up Next - The Colonels will wrap up their play for the semester with a pair of games against CNE opponent UNE, starting with an away game on Friday at 7pm.
