Syracuse, NY - The Curry Men's Hockey team began their weekend trip to New York with a loss to SUNY Cortland on Saturday, falling 8-3. The Colonels are now 7-2-0 on the season, while the Red Dragons are now 6-2-0.

Cortland started the game on fire, scoring twice in the first nine minutes. They then doubled their lead with a pair of goals in a 50 second span towards the end of the first period. The Colonels responded less than a minute later to draw within 4-1, but the Red Dragons would score once more before the end of the period, taking a 5-1 lead after one. They would add another in the second, and scored a seventh goal at the start of the third. Taurin Haddon-Harris and Gage Dill each scored in the third, but it was too little, too late, as the Red Dragons took the 8-3 win.

Shane Soderwall started in net for the Colonels, making nine saves. Cam Smith made his career debut in net towards the end of the second period, making six saves.

Up Next - The Colonels will look to put this game behind them, as they will take on the Red Dragons again on Sunday, at 3pm.
