Canton - The Curry Men's Hockey team continued their hot start to the season, beating Nichols 5-1 on Friday night. With the win, the Colonels are now 6-1-0 on the season, and 4-1-0 in CNE play. The Bison are now 2-3-2 and 1-2-2.

After a feeling out period of 10 minutes to start the game, the Colonels began the scoring with a goal from the right circle by Max Lundgren, his second goal of the season. He was assisted by Wilhelm Patriksson and Blake Rothstein. Alex Duncan then doubled the lead with three minutes left in the first period, being assisted by Cole Weinger and Karim Gayfullin. It was Duncan's third goal of the season.

Just 90 seconds into the second period, the Colonels built their lead even bigger, as Eelis Laaksonen scored his team high 5th goal of the season. Then after a Bison goal, the Colonels responded with a goal late in the second. This goal came from Blake Rothstein, and had Wilhelm Patriksson and Cole Weinger each picking up their second assists of the game. The Colonels would add one final goal late in the third off of the stick of Ryan Prewitt, with Duncan and Laaksonen each grabbing an assist.

The Colonels led the Bison in shots 32 to 21, and had a narrow 33-28 faceoff advantage. That was led by Laaksonen, who won eight of 10 draws

Shane Soderwall picked up his sixth win on the season by making 20 saves.
