Men's Ice Hockey Shuts Out Wesleyan

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Curry College shut out Wesleyan University 3-0 Saturday afternoon in a non-conference men's ice hockey matchup at Spurrier-Snyder Rink.

With the win, the Colonels improve to an overall record of 4-2 on the season.

Junior Jacob Crespo (Mount Holly, N.J.) put Curry on the board with just under three minutes remaining in the first period, scoring his first goal of the season to put the Colonels on top 1-0. Wilhelm Patriksson (Stockholm, Sweden) and Nicolas Lariviere (Blainville, Quebec) were credited with assists on the play.

After a scoreless second period, the Colonels put in two in the third. The first goal was scored three and a half minutes into the period when freshman Ryan Prewitt (Abington, Mass.) scored his first career goal to give the Colonels a 2-0 lead. He was assisted by Matt Connor (Nottingham, N.H.) & Austan Bellefeuille (Framingham, Mass.).

The final goal of the game was an empty net scored by sophomore Jesse Galassi (Lockport, N.Y.) in the final minute of play. This time assists came from Shane Soderwall (Algonquin, Ill.) and Bellefeuille.

Curry College returns to action on Sunday (11/26) in a road game against Trinity beginning at 3 p.m.
