Colonels Dropped by Nor’Easters in Overtime
Curry College Men’s Ice Hockey fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent University of New England in overtime by a final score of 2-1 Friday evening at the Canton Ice House.

CANTON, Mass. - Curry College Men's Ice Hockey fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent University of New England in overtime by a final score of 2-1 Friday evening at the Canton Ice House.
With the loss, Curry falls to 3-1-0 overall this season and 2-1 in the CCC.
The Colonels struck first in the CCC matchup at the Canton Ice House as Killian Rowlee (Fulton, N.Y.) buried a shot in the back of the net, capitalizing on a rebound opportunity stemming from a shot by Curry's Matt Connor (Nottingham, N.H.) to put the Colonels up 1-0 with just under eight minutes remaining in the period.
The visiting Nor'Easters equalized the contest with just over six minutes remaining in the second period. UNE senior defenseman Alex Sheehy netted a power-play strike past Curry's Reid Cooper (Corman Park, Saskatchewan) assisted by Shea Courtmanche and Jake Fuss to even up the matchup at one goal apiece heading into the second intermission.
Neither side would find the back of the net through the third period, Curry marking nine shots to UNE's 11. The scoreless third period would send the conference contest to a five-minute three-on-three overtime period. 2:18 into the overtime period, UNE's Anthony Sciucco sealed the road victory for the Nor'Easters, burying a shot past Curry's Reid Cooper delivered by Alex Sheehy.
Curry's graduate netminder Reid Cooper turned aside 36 of the 38 shots he faced in the Commonwealth Coast Conference loss at home.
Next up for the Colonels, they continue CCC action on Saturday night as they travel to face the UNE Nor'Easters in Biddeford, Maine at 7 PM.
