EVERETT, Mass. – Sophomore Shane Tracy (Bow, N.H.) scored four goals, including two in the first period, as the Curry College ice hockey team picked up its second straight victory with a 6-1 win over Wentworth Institute of Technology in an ECAC Northeast matchup at Allied Veterans Rink.

With the win the Colonels improve to 7-9-2 overall and 3-6-1 in league play while the Leopards dropped their second straight to stand at 3-13-2 (2-6-1).

Tracy netted a power-play goal 3:50 into the contest when junior Sean Nelson (Brighton, Mich.) fed freshman Mack Heisinger (Winnipeg, Man.). Heisinger took a shot which was saved by Wentworth freshman Matt Jenkins (Mount Pearl, N.J.), however Tracy put the rebound home. At the 13:06 mark of the frame junior James Murphy (Malden, Mass.) created a turnover and fed Tracy who scored his second of the contest.

Freshman Zachery White (Milford, Conn.) put the visitors ahead at 8:13 of the second period when he split the Leopard defense after receiving passes from junior Brett Sinclair (St. Catharine's, Ont.) and sophomore Phil Kus (Burlington, Ont.). Tracy gave Curry a 4-0 lead at 17:57 of the middle period when, off the face-off after a penalty call, he won the draw and fired a shot past Jenkins.

Wentworth scored with 27.4 seconds left in the period as sophomore Ryan Sullivan (Whately, Mass.) tallied his first of the season after being set up by freshman Eric Eustace (Oakville, Ont.) and junior Kyle Lebrun (Bridgewater, Mass.).

Tracy notched his fourth of the contest at the 4:08 mark of the third period by scoring his third power-play goal of the afternoon. Assisting on the goal were Murphy and sophomore Adam Valadao (Ajax, Ont.). White completed the scoring as he netted his second of the game of assists from sophomore Phil Kiss (Burlington, Ont.) and Nelson.

Sinclair made 27 saves in 55:01 of work before giving way to sophomore Chris James (Carefree, Ariz.) who made one stop over the final 4:09. Jenkins made 27 saves for Wentworth. Curry held a 33-29 shot advantage and was 3-for-7 on the power play while Wentworth was 1-for-7.
