BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's ice hockey team fell to Curry College, 5-3, in an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Northeast matchup inside Raymond J. Bourque Arena on Thursday night.

Trailing 3-1 early on in the third period, Curry responded with four unanswered goals (one empty netter) to claim its third victory in its last five games (3-2-0).

Freshman Mack Heisinger (Winnipeg, Manitoba) jump started the Colonels' offense with his third goal of the season at the 3:46 mark of the period, while classmate Zachary White (Milford, Conn.) evened the score at 3-3 (9:58) on feeds by Brian White (Santa Ana, Calif.) and Jarrett Kup (Rosseau, Ontario).

A little over two minutes later, freshman Hector Majul (Mexico City, Mexico) buried his first career goal in traffic in front of the crease for the guests' first lead of the contest. Junior forward Tyler Vankleef (Dundas, Ontario) then went on to seal the victory at 19:29 with a great individual effort for his tenth goal of the season. After blocking a shot in the defensive zone, Vankleef skated hard towards the loose puck that ricocheted off of him, gathered it just beyond center ice and eventually slipped a low shot into an empty net for the final tally of the game.

Endicott built up its 3-1 lead on goals from Shamus Maloney (North Attleboro, Mass.), Carter Horwitz (Tustin, Calif.) and Josh Bowes (Sturgeon County, Alberta, Canada) as the trio scored their goals in the first (3:07), second (7:59), and third (3:31) periods, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Curry's Adam Valadao (Ajax, Ontario) and Endicott's Thomas Daniels (St. Louis, Mo.) and Bowes all tied for the game-high in face-off wins with 11 apiece.
  • Endicott freshman goaltender Kevin Aldridge (Beverly Hills, Mich.) stopped 37 shots in the loss (9-6-2). Aldridge now has 30 or more saves in eight games this season.
  • The Gulls are 2-4-1 at home in 2015-16.

FOR THE FOES

  • Shane Harrington (Mansfield, Mass.) potted his fourth goal of the season at the 7:59 mark of the second period to tie up the contest at 1-1, at the time.
  • Junior netminder Brett Sinclair (St. Catharines, Ontario) turned away 37 shots in the victory (5-7-1).
  • Tonight's road win for the Colonels was their second this season (2-3-0).
