Former Colonels' Standout Reed Re-Joins SPHL's Huntsville Havoc

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Havoc head coach Glenn Detulleo announced today defenseman Justin Tateson and forwards Jordan Reed and Jeremy Beirnes will return to camp with the team in October.

Reed and Tateson both joined the Havoc late last season and Beirnes played in 13 games in 2009-10 before returning to college.

Tateson (6-4, 215 pounds) played in seven games last season and scored one goal and recorded two assists. He joined the team after played in 55 games over four seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks where he recorded five assists.

"I'm excited to bring Justin back to this season," Detulleo said. "He jumped in and made an immediate impact for us late last year.  He brings a good mix of physical play and puck moving ability to our D corps.  I look for him to step in a play a big role for us his rookie season."

"I had a really good experience to finish off last season with the Havoc," Tateson said. "I felt like Huntsville was somewhere I could play for the upcoming year. The players, coaching staff and management are all great people with a good vision which is something I want to be a part of. I am excited for the 2015-16 season."

Reed (5-10, 170 pounds) scored three goals and recorded two assists in the final six games last season. He played in 95 games at Curry College from 2011-2015 and scored 45 goals and recorded 41 assists.

"Jordan came in for our last six games and made a very good impression," Detulleo said. "He's a smart player with a great shot. I expect him to play an important role for our team from game one."

"I am very excited to return to the Huntsville Havoc this upcoming fall," Reed said. "I have always wanted to play professional hockey after college and didn't hesitate to when I had the opportunity at the end of last season. I am looking forward to being back in Huntsville now that I have graduated and have an off-season to prepare myself. I am excited to see what we can do this year."

Beirnes (6-0, 195 pounds) scored one goal in 13 games for the Havoc in 2009-10. He returned to the University of Alberta-Augustana where he scored 21 goals and recorded 11 assists in 93 games.

"Jeremy is returning for his second stint with Havoc after finishing school," Detulleo said. "We look for Jeremy to play a strong physical game.  Expect to see him playing in the hard areas, driving the net and sticking up for his teammates!"

"I'm excited to have signed with the Havoc and look forward to contributing towards a successful season," Beirnes said. "The atmosphere at the Von Braun Center is electric and playing in front of Havoc fans once again is a great opportunity."
