Biddeford, ME - The Curry Men's Basketball team was defeated by UNE on Wednesday by a final score of 101-93. With the loss the Colonels fall to 2-22 on the season, and 1-16 in CNE play. The Nor'easters are now 7-17 and 5-12.
The Colonels played one of their better halves of the season in the first half, leading 47-41 at half time. Things would stay close, as the game was tied at 83 with just under four minutes to play. But back-to-back threes from UNE gave them the lead, and the Colonels never got back closer than four.
It was a balanced attack from the Colonels, as four of their five starters scored double-digit points, led by Malik Gelinas' 23. Right behind him were Jaiden Mann (22) and Jeremiah Predin (21). Francisco Lopez added 13. Predin led the team with 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the season.
The 93 points scored were a season high for Curry, but the difference in this game proved to be the benches. The Nor'easters bench scored 44 points compared to just eight for the Colonels.
Up Next - The Colonels will end their season on Saturday when they have their Senior Day at 2pm. They will take on Hartford.
