Men’s Basketball Bested by Bowdoin

WESTON, Mass. - Curry College was defeated 75-58 by Bowdoin College in a non-conference collegiate men's basketball game Friday night during the Autism Acceptance Classic hosted by Regis College at Higgins Court.

With the loss, the Colonels fall to an overall record of 0-2 to start the season.

The Polar Bears controlled the pace of play in the first half, jumping out to a commanding 26-6 lead through the first 12 minutes. A pair of Malik Gelinas three-pointers ended the Bowdoin run and got Curry back in the game.

The Colonels played a much more competitive second half, only being outscored by the Polar Bears 36-33. Unfortunately for Curry, the Bowdoin lead amassed in the first half proved too much to bear.

Gelinas led the squad in scoring coming off the bench with 11 points, going 3-for-6 from behind the three-point line. Will O'Malley and Damon Folds were also efficient off the bench, scoring nine and eight, respectively.

Curry College takes on Fisher during day two of the Autism Acceptance Classic on Saturday, November 16th, beginning at 1 p.m.
