Boston, MA - The Curry Colonels men's basketball team fell to their CCC for Wentworth on Tuesday by a final score of 72-58. The loss drops the Colonels to 8-10 on the season and 2-8 in CCC play, while the Leopards are now 8-10 and 4-6.
Early on it was a close game, as the Leopards held a slim lead throughout the first 10 minutes, and would lead 20-14 midway through the half. They would go up by as many as 16, and led 35-19 with five minutes remaining in the half. But Curry fought back, and used a 15-1 run to close out the half, and entered halftime trailing just 36-34. The Colonels would close to within one early in the second half, but a 13-0 run from WIT gave them control, and a 14 point lead. The Leopards would eventually close the game out, and win 72-58.
The Colonels were led by Jason Romans' (Peabody, MA) 18 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, all team highs. The lone other double-digit scorer for Curry was Lowelle Torres (Vineland, NJ), who scored 12. Off the bench, Jonathan Joel (Cranston, RI), playing in his 92nd career game, had a career high four steals.
