
MILTON, Mass - Curry College was defeated 86-72 by Western New England University Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference men's basketball action at Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.
With the loss, the Colonels drop to an overall record of 6-7 and a conference record of 0-6.
Sophomores Jason Romans (Peabody, Mass.) and Carl Monplaisir (Vero Beach, Fla.) combined for 15 of Curry's 29 first half points. The pair went a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line in the half and each had a steal.
Romans led all players with 18 total points while going 6-for-6 from the free throw line. Tommy Mallinson (Wilmington, Mass.) knocked down three three-pointers to finish with 11 points and a team-high six rebounds. James Scali (Newburyport, Mass.) had 10 points coming off the bench including a pair of threes.
Curry College returns to action on Tuesday, January 9th, in a road contest against Gordon beginning at 7:30 p.m.
