SALEM, Mass. - The Curry College men's basketball was bested by Salem State University by a final score of 82-56 in non-conference action at Twohig Gymnasium.
With the defeat, Curry drops to 0-4 overall on the season.
Junior Lowelle Torres (Vineland, N.J.) paced Curry with a season-best 19 points on the evening. He scored 12 of his points in the opening 20 minutes, and knocked down a pair of three-pointers.
Classmate Frankie Santiago Jr. (New Britain, Conn.) notched eight points of his own, with three rbounds, an assist, and a steal.
Freshman Tommy Mallinson (Wilmington, Mass.) led all bench players on the evening with eight points. He also led Curry with four assists in the contest.
Next up for the Colonels, they will return home for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference battle with Lesley University on Thursday evening for Purple Out. The first 75 students in attendance for both the men's and women's games on Thursday evening will receive a free t-shirt.
