Men's Basketball Dropped by UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine - The Curry College men's basketball team was tripped up by the University of New England by a 91-64 final score Wednesday evening in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at the Harold Alfond Forum.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 2-17 overall on the season and 1-11 in the CCC.

Junior Nick Johnson (Athens, Ga.) paced the Colonels offensively with his second straight 15-point performance in the defeat. The guard shot 7-for-11 (63.6 percent) from the floor, and also finished with five rebounds.

The only Colonel to out-rebound Johnson was sophomore Sante Smith (Norfolk, Va.), who had a team-high six boards to go along with nine points.

Alex Kravchuk notched 28 points for the hosts, lifting his team to the victory.

Curry will be back on the court on Saturday with a matinee matchup against Gordon College at 3 p.m. at the Dr. Eleanor Meyerhoff Katz Gymnasium.
