Men's Hoops Falls Short Against Wentworth

BOSTON, Mass. - The Curry College men's basketball team dropped a 74-54 final to the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Commonwealth Coast Conference action Thursday evening at Tansey Gymnasium.

With the defeat, Curry drops to 2-16 overall on the season and 1-10 in CCC play.

Curry junior guard Nick Johnson (Athen, Ga.) looked sharp in the opening half, leading all players with 10 points, but it wasn't enough as Wentworth still held a 38-29 advantage at the break. Tommy Dooling notched eight points in the period to pace the Leopards.

The Colonels could get no closer in the second half, as the hosts continued to pull away to secure the 20-point victory. Trey Carrier recorded eight points and eight rebounds after the break to close out a 15-point, 18-board performance for Wentworth. Curry was led by seven points by freshman Harold Sartiah (Sutton, Mass.) in the half.

Three Colonels finished in double figures, led by Johnson with 15. Sartiah and junior Michael August (Stratford, Conn.) each notched 10 points in the defeat.

Next up for the Colonels, they will travel to Maine to play the University of New England on Wednesday, February 2. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
