Summer Spotlight - Michael Ashley

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.

We continue the series with Michael Ashley (Atlanta, Ga.), a rising sophomore from our men's basketball program:

How did you get into your sport? I've been playing basketball since the age of three. I also have a family of athletes.

Why did you choose Curry? I was recruited by the basketball coach and was offered a chance to play basketball while pursuing an education.

What hobbies do you have outside your sport? Traveling, coaching, and mentoring youth.

What is your dream job? NBA Agent

What is your greatest sports moment? Winning the regional championship with my high school team.

What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? Play XBox

Interesting fact about yourself? I am a compassionate person.

Three things on your "bucket list"? 1. Play basketball with Paul George, 2. Obtain my dream job, 3. Visit Dubai.

Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? I eat gummy worms, pray, and listen to music.
