MILTON, Mass.- The Curry men's basketball program will be adding 15 new, talented players to this year's team. Coach LeVangie believes that the upperclassmen leadership is going to be excellent and that the chemistry on this year's team will help them get over the growing pains of being a young squad. The coaching staff is excited about the energy and passion that this team brings to the court every day.

At the point guard spot Curry has added Louis Stein (Edgewater, N.J.). Also, freshman Matt McCune (Somerville, Mass.), DaShawn Williams (New Haven, Conn.), and Bryan Tavares (Seekonk, Mass) will help provide depth in the backcourt.

At the wing position the Colonels added Jordan and Jaelen George-Bellitti from Cambridge Rindge and Latin. They have also added Nick George from Cardinal Spellman High School, Spencer Feng (Keene, N.H.) and Jared Thorpe-Thompson from Reading High School.

At the forward spot Curry welcomes the addition of Kieran Carroll (Greenwich, Conn.), Dale Swindell (Somerset, N.J.), Vertell Dunham and Dwayne Boothe, both from Jamaica, N.Y., as well as Kevin Maley (Hightstown, N.J.).

At the center spot, newcomer John Coleman (Warwick, R.I.) will help give the Colonels an inside presence.

The team will also welcome back seven returners to the 2016-17 squad.

Paul Preziosi will return at the wing spot and looks to build on his great junior season. James Pina returns to his spot in the post. Pina had a fantastic offseason and looks poised to have an even better senior campaign. Both seniors have provided outstanding leadership thus far this season.

Junior Alex Paul is back at the forward spot. The team will be looking for him provide scoring from both inside and out.

The sophomore class has four guys looking to build on a lot of experienced gained as freshman. Shooters Luke Schreiner and Ryan Beatty will look to stretch defenses and open up driving lanes. James Gibson will look to his solid play at the point guard position. Forward Jason O'Neil, out most of his freshman year, will look to provide a boost to both forward spots.

Last year was a season of transition for Curry under new head coach Matt LeVangie. This year, with an infusion of young talent, the Colonels look to compete in the always competitive Commonwealth Coast Conference.

The team opens the 2016-17 season on Tuesday November 15th at home against Lesley University at 7:30 p.m.
