Jones Named as CCC and ECAC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Curry College senior guard Sedale Jones (Pittsfield, Mass.) has been named as Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week and ECAC Division III New England Player of the Week for the period ending December 9. It is the second time this season that Jones has earned CCC Player of the Week honors.

Jones led his team to a 2-1 week. In a hard-fought 97-93 loss to Williams, Jones earned a double-double, netting 34 points and snagging 10 rebounds. In the Colonels' 89-74 victory over UMass Dartmouth, he tallied 18 points and gathered nine rebounds. Jones ended the week by recording 23 points, four rebounds, and three assists in Curry’s 81-78 victory over Wesleyan. On the week, he averaged 25 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, while shooting 52% from the field (24-of-46).

Through nine games, the Colonels are 5-4 overall and 2-0 in CCC action. Jones is averaging a team-leading 23.2 points per game, and is pulling down 7.1 rebounds per game.
