Quinn Leads Football to 24-10 Win Over UNE

BIDDEFORD, Maine - Curry College defeated Conference of New England rival the University of New England 24-10 Saturday afternoon in a football game at Blue Storm Stadium.

Montie Quinn had another impressive performance, rushing for a season-high 265 yards and two touchdowns including a 72-yard score in the third quarter to give the Colonels a 17-10 advantage.

After UNE took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, Michael Moriarty led a 10-play 63-yard drive that resulted in a six-yard touchdown pass to Pat Leary to give Curry a 7-3 lead. Omar Aboutoui closed out scoring in the first half with a 37-yard field goal to end the half on top 10-3.

After a UNE touchdown tied the game, Quinn scored on the first play of Curry's next drive to give Curry a permanent advantage. Quinn would score again early in the fourth quarter, finishing a five-play, 71-yard drive with another long touchdown run, this time a 48-yarder that gave the game its final score of 14-10.

Moriarty finished with 102 passing yards and one passing touchdown while Colin Ridley () the Colonels' receivers with six catches for 55 yards and a long of 25.

Adem Kica and Tyler David paced Curry on the defensive side of the ball with seven tackles each. Kica, Max Ackerman, Pete Jurovich III, and Ryan Yates also combined for three sacks. Rocco MacNeil also caught the game's only interception.

Curry College returns to action on Saturday, November 9th, to continue CNE competition against Nichols beginning at noon.
