Football Picks Up First Win of the Season

Franklin, MA – The Curry football team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, defeating Dean 50-0 to move to 1-2 on the season.  Dean is now 0-2 on the season.

Curry got things started immediately, scoring a touchdown on the opening drive by way of a 16-yard Montie Quinn touchdown run. The Colonels would double their lead later in the first quarter when Michael Moriarty threw the first of three touchdown passes on the day, this one a nine-yard pass to Colin Ridley.

After forcing a fumble on a punt return, which was recovered by Nachbi Chery, Curry would go up 21-0 on the first play on the following drive. This time it was Jaden Doman catching a 14-yard pass from Moriarty. This is how things would stay into halftime.

The second half was more of the same, as Curry would score on their first drive. This score came on a 45-yard pass from Moriarty to Matthew Bowen. After a safety on the next Dean drive made it 3o-o, the Colonels scored two more touchdowns in the third, both on the ground. The first was a Montie Quinn four-yard run, followed by a Jordan Depina 18-yard run. These scores made it 44-0. The Colonels would tack on one more score in the fourth, a 34-yard touchdown pass from Hunter Agosti to Patrick Leary.
