Football Struck Down by Endicott

BEVERLY, Mass. - Curry College football was bested by Endicott College 48-6 Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action at Hempstead Stadium.

With the loss, Curry falls to an overall record of 3-6 and a CCC record of 1-3.

The Colonels started the game off strong, scoring the first touchdown of the game late in the first quarter off a nine-yard touchdown pass from Michael Moriarty (Rockland, Mass.) to Lucas Leander (Rockland, Mass.) to complete a nine-play, 75-yard drive. The score gave Curry a 6-0 lead over the Gulls.

Sophomore running back Montie Quinn (Goose Creek, S.C.) led all rushers with 84 yards, including a long of 22 yards in the third quarter.

Freshman wide receiver Colin Ridley (Peabody, Mass.) was another significant contributor to the Colonels' offense, catching seven passes for a total of 93 yards, including a 45-yard completion as part of Curry's scoring drive.

Senior linebacker Michael Sims (Baltic, Conn.) led all players with 12 total tackles, while junior Adem Kica (Oxford, Conn.) added 10 tackles, including a sack for a loss of five yards.

Curry College returns to action on Saturday (11/11) to close out the season with a home matchup against Western New England at 12 p.m.
