MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.
We continue the series with Derek Degeis (Mansfield, Mass.), a rising senior from our football program:
How did you get into your sport? Started playing in second grade and fell in love.
Why did you choose Curry? Mount Ida closed and Curry was the closest thing to it.
What hobbies do you have outside your sport? Fishing, mudding, and being with friends.
What is your dream job? To work for the Patriots as an Equipment Manager or Film Coordinator
What is your greatest sports moment? Every time I step on the field, I take it as the greatest moment because you never know when it is going to be the last.
Interesting fact about yourself? I was in marching band in high school and played football.
Three things on your "bucket list"? 1. Go to Austrailia, 2. Own a huge ranch with ATV's and trucks, 3. Get married.
Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? Play catch on the sideline before a game.
