Summer Spotlight - Melvin Wells

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College Athletics has announced the implementation of the Summer Spotlight series, which will feature profiles of returning student-athletes and coaches across the Colonels' 14 NCAA Division III programs.

We continue the series with Melvin Wells (Hamden, Conn.), a rising senior from our football program:

How did you get into your sport? My father was a long football coach.

Why did you choose Curry? I met a lot great people on my visits and it felt like home.

What hobbies do you have outside your sport? Weightlifting, hiking, and reading.  

What is your dream job? Clinical Psychologist

What is your greatest sports moment? Every moment I share the field with my teammates is a great moment.

What is your favorite thing to do off the playing surface with your teammates? Smokey bones all you can eat wings.

Interesting fact about yourself? I have never personally owned any pets.

Three things on your "bucket list"? 1. Travel to Egypt, 2. Swim with sharks, and 3. Take a picture with a koala.

Do you have any pregame/pre-event rituals? If so, what are they? Visualize winning game before the game.
