Atwood Tabbed CCC Football Co-Defensive Lineman of The Year, Three Total Named All-Conference

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Three members of the Curry College football team were recognized when Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) announced its All-Conference teams and major award winners on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior captain Hunter Atwood (Reading, Mass.) led the award winners as he was named as the Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year. In addition, Atwood is also a First Team All-Conference selection. He finished his senior campaign with 54 total tackles (27 solo, 27 assisted) along with 12 tackles for loss. Atwood was also credited with one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and two pass breakups. He finished the season as the conference leader in sacks with 6.5 for a total of 56 yards. Atwood closed his career with the Colonels having played in 39 games while making 157 tackles, 88 of which were solo stops. He also made 12.5 sacks for 87 yards and 34 tackles for loss.

Junior running back Zach Levy (Bellingham, Mass.) lands on the Second Team following a season where he rushed for 716 yards on 102 attempts and scored seven touchdowns. Levy also pulled in 17 receptions for 117 yards and another three scores. He finished the season with a team-high 1,070 all-purpose yards. Levy accounted for a team-high 60 points. He ranked in the top five in the conference in rushing yards per game (71.6) and rushing touchdowns. Levy finished the season with a league-best seven yards per rush. He was named as the CCC Football Offensive Player of the Week on October 6 following a career day where he rushed 13 times for a career-high 216 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over the University of New England.

Senior captain Nick Villanueva (Hanson, Mass.) was selected to the Second Team after a senior season where he registered led Curry with career-high 59 receptions while tallying 877 yards and six touchdowns. Villanueva finished his career as a Colonel with 36 games played, 156 receptions for 2,281 yards. He closed the season ranked fourth in the conference in receiving yards per game (87.7), receiving yards (877), and was in the top ten in the league with his six TD grabs.
