SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshmen Evan Damian (East Haven, Conn.) and Gabriel Desouza (North Andover, Mass.) of the Curry College football team were selected in the weekly awards from Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football), as announced by the conference office on Sunday morning.

Damian earns Special Teams Player of the Week honors as he contributed six points in Curry's high-scoring setback against Nichols. Damian was perfect on PAT attempts, converting all six tries. His six successful PAT's were a season-high.

Desouza is the Offensive Rookie of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks after he tallied five catches for 71 yards for the Colonels on Saturday against Nichols. Two of those catches went for scores with a 21-yard reception early in the second quarter and a one-yard scoring play in the third. Desouza averaged 14.2 yards per catch and now has six touchdown receptions in the last four games.

Damian, Desouza, and the Colonels (2-7 overall, 2-4 CCC Football) close out the season on Saturday, November 16 at Salve Regina University. Kickoff is set for noon.
