
BOSTON - Curry College was defeated 10-5 by the Wentworth Institute of Technology in a Conference of New England baseball game Tuesday afternoon at Libby Field.
With the loss, the Colonels' overall record falls to 8-21 and 4-10 in conference play.
Curry was first on the board, scoring off a sacrifice fly by Kyle Doolin in the top of the first inning. After allowing five runs to the home team, Erik Leonard drove in another run off a sac fly in the top of the fourth to cut the Wentworth lead to 5-2.
The top of the eighth saw the Colonels score three times in an attempt to cover a 10-2 deficit. A Bobby Marshall double scored the first run of the inning, followed by consecutive RBIs from Brandon Polanco and Leonard.
Marshall was the standout for Curry, going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI while scoring twice. Devin Grove went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.
Cury College returns to action with a non-conference game against Brandeis on Wednesday, April 30th, beginning at 7 p.m.
