Baseball Team Partners With Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay

MILTON, Mass. - Curry College freshman William De La Cruz manages to find time outside of his studies and off-season baseball workouts to volunteer for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay (BBBSMB).

"Big Brother" William visits with his "Little Brother" Elajia Perez-Parrish once a week. His mission is to simple: To be a friend who brings a little magic into the life of a deserving child.

These are just a few of the activities William and Elajia do during their time together:

·         Have fun in the gym

·         Work on homework

·         Play board games

·         Sit and talk

·         Share a laugh

In the spring William hopes to invite Elajia and his family to a Colonels' baseball game.

In late October, BBBSMB Enrollment Specialist Emily Pinch wrote the following to Curry's Head Baseball Coach Dave Perdios:

"I just wanted to thank you again for your effort in helping to build this partnership. We have launched the program with one of your players, William de la Cruz.  He's been really easy to work with and I think he's going to be a great asset to the program, so thank you for your help."
