BIDDEFORD, Maine - Members of the Curry College men's and women's basketball teams each took home Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors on Monday afternoon.
Freshman Shawn Charles (Miami, Fla.) took home the award on the men's side, while classmate Lauren Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) earned the honor for the women's team.
Charles nearly averaged a double-double last week, recording 8.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in a pair of CCC contests. He opened the week with nine points and nine rebounds against Nichols on Tuesday, before posting eight points and nine rebounds against Salve Regina on Saturday.
Dunn served as Curry's leading scorer last week, averaging 21.0 points per game over a pair of contests. She shot 42.9 percent from distance, while also averaging 7.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Against Nichols on Tuesday, she notched her first career double-double, with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while also dishing out five assists.
Charles earns the award for the first time this season, while Dunn earns her third selection in the last four weeks.
