
BIDDEFORD, Maine - For the third consecutive week, three Curry College student-athletes earned Commonwealth Coast Conference weekly recognition on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Mark Zhukov (St. Petersburg, Russia) and sophomore Kevin Pitts (Point-Claire, Quebec) of the men's ice hockey team were named CCC Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, while freshman Lauren Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) of Curry women's basketball earned CCC Rookie of the Week.
Zhukov exploded for the Colonels over the weekend, netting 12 points in a pair of victories over Nichols College. He opened the week with two goals and five assists for seven points in an 11-3 win on Friday night, before notching one goal and four assists for five points in a 9-1 win on Saturday.
Pitts led Curry rookies with four points in his team's weekend sweep of Nichols. He notched a goal and two assists on Friday before tallying an assist on Saturday to finish the weekend with a goal and three assists.
Dunn was Curry's second-leading scorer on the week, averaging 13.5 points per game. She opened the week with 13 points, four rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal against Gordon on Tuesday, before notching 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and one steal against Western New England on Saturday.
Zhukov and Pitts earn CCC weekly awards for the first time this season, while Dunn earns CCC Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row.
