Curry Men's & Women's Ice Hockey to Host Hockey Fights Cancer Games Friday & Saturday

The Curry College men's and women's ice hockey programs will host their annual Hockey Fights Cancer games at the Canton Ice House this weekend.

The Colonel men's team drops the puck on Friday night against Salve Regina at 7 p.m., before the women face the University of New England on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Admission to the game will be $10 for adults and $5 for students, and includes a free Hockey Fights Cancer t-shirt. All proceeds will benefit the the American Cancer Society and the Reo Todesca Memorial Foundation, which makes donations to help fund cancer research programs that will provide patients and families with prevention, screening, treatments, and support so that more lives will be saved; its goal is to aid in the fight to “Conquer Cancer.” Reo Todesca is the mother of Xaverian High School coach Paul Todesca, who lost her battle with cancer in 2017.

The games will also feature a silent auction, raffles, and more.

Both Curry teams will wear custom purple Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys for the games. The jerseys are light purple for Hockey Fights Cancer, with screen printed purple ribbons on both the jersey and the socks. The Reo Todesca Memorial Foundation and Hockey Fights Cancer logos appear on either shoulder, while the words "No One Fights Alone" appears on the inside collar. A blank space for players to write in who they are playing for appears on the front of the jersey, along with a ribbon on the front bearing Reo Todesca's first name.

The jerseys were donated, along with a goodie bag with purple tape, laces, helmet decals, and more, to each player by Paul and Angelo Todesca and Arrow Sports Group.
