GREENWOOD, Ind. - Ten Curry College student-athletes, representing four sports, earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon.
Leading the way with four honorees was the Curry men's ice hockey team. Graduate students Reid Cooper (Corman Park, Saskatchewan) and Tarek Paranica (Grand Forks, N.D.) and seniors Nick Favaro (Vaughan, Ontario) and Mark Zhukov (St. Petersburg, Russia) represented men's ice hockey.
Juniors Lexi LaPerle (Ledyard, Conn.) and Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) and sophomore Anna Langton (Zimmerman, Minn.) earned recognition for the women's lacrosse team. Langton was also joined by women's ice hockey teammates Soleil Archambeault (London, Ontario) and Ali Olorenshaw (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) on the All-District Team.
Rounding out the honorees was men's lacrosse junior Stephen Stackhouse (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.).
To be eligible for the Academic All-District Team, an athlete must be at least a sophomore academically, have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50, and be a starter or significant reserve on their respective team.
As Academic All-District honorees, all six Colonels earn spots on the ballot for Academic All-America recognition, which will be announced in June.
