MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that Sarah Dacey has been named the College's head women's soccer coach and interim head women's lacrosse coach. Dacey was a women's soccer All-American and won three national championships as a player at the University of North Carolina.
A dual-sport athlete at UNC, Dacey was also a three-year starter on the Tar Heel women's lacrosse program, leading her team to two Final Fours, and received two Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-America honors. She comes to Milton with an abundance of experience coaching at the college, high school, and club levels.
"I am honored and excited to be the next head women's soccer coach and interim women's lacrosse coach at Curry College," said Dacey. "I want to thank President Quigley, Athletic Director Vinnie Eruzione, and the search committee for this opportunity and for believing in me to lead these programs. Both teams have unlimited potential and are motivated to achieve their goals both in the classroom and on the field. I can't wait to start working with the student-athletes to see what we can accomplish together."
Dacey's most recent coaching stop was as head girls' soccer coach at Hingham High School, where she led her team to the finals of the MIAA State Championship in 2021. Her team was ranked first in Massachusetts and fourth nationally. In her two seasons at Hingham, Dacey coached her team to a record of 34-2-2.
Prior to Hingham, Dacey spent four seasons as the head women's soccer coach at Division II Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. She led the Buccaneers to back-to-back Sunshine State Conference Regular Season Championships in 2018 and 2019, to earn conference Coach of the Year honors in both seasons. In 2016, Dacey coached Barry to the number one ranking in the South Region, and marched her team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
From 2006 to 2010, Dacey was the head women's soccer coach and assistant women's lacrosse coach at Babson College. With the soccer program, she led the Beavers to three consecutive double-digit win seasons for the first time in over 10 years, and established a program that ranked in the top-10 in New England in 2009. Her .603 winning percentage is still the highest mark among coaches in school history. The Babson women's lacrosse program won three consecutive NEWMAC championships under her guidance from 2007 to 2009.
Before Babson, Dacey was the head girls' soccer and lacrosse coach at the Fay School in Southborough. Dacey has also served as assistant women's soccer coach at Boston College, Providence College, the University of Tennessee, and the University at Albany during her career. She has been the Director of Coaching for club teams FC Boston Bolts Celtic and Pinecrest Premier Soccer Club, and is currently the Director of Coaching at Galway Rovers FC.
Dacey played professionally for three seasons in the Women's United Soccer Association, splitting time between the Carolina Courage and the Boston Breakers.
"I cannot be more excited for our women's soccer and lacrosse student-athletes," said Eruzione. "Coach Dacey brings a wealth of successful coaching and playing experience to both programs. Her character and respect around the coaching circles will create immediate stability to our women's soccer and lacrosse teams. We are thrilled to welcome her to not only our athletic department but to the College."
Dacey graduated from UNC with a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1998.
