Two Colonels Receive CCC Weekly Awards

BIDDEFORD, Maine - A pair of Curry College student-athletes received weekly recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference on Monday.

Senior Charlie Stanton (Melrose, Mass.) was named the CCC Football Offensive Player of the Week, while junior Kathryn Dunn (Hanson, Mass.) was named the CCC Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Stanton had a Senior Day to remember for Curry on Saturday afternoon, surpassing the program's all-time record for passing yards in a game with 550. The mark is also believed to be a CCC record, according to available data. He also matched the Curry program record with 42 completions, while throwing for five touchdowns and rushing for one more in his team's season finale against the University of New England.

Dunn averaged a double-double to lead Curry to a 2-1 record in the three-game week. She was named the Curry College Tip-Off Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading her team to the championship in a thrilling overtime victory over Western Connecticut State. Dunn averaged 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in the tournament to help her team lift the trophy.

It is the first weekly award honor for either player this season.
