Three Colonels Earn CCC Weekly Awards

BIDDEFORD, Maine - Three Curry College student-athletes have earned weekly recognition from the Commonwealth Coast Conference, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.

Sophomore Alexandra Borkov (Newton, Mass.) was named CCC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, sophomore Madison Frye (Abington, Mass.) was named the CCC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, and freshman Lucas Drons (Bellingham, Mass.) was named the CCC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week.

Borkov continued her roll of dominance on the season with four wins in five matches for the Colonels. She moved to 10-1 on the season in singles play with her trio of singles wins, outscoring her opponents 36-4 on the week.

Frye recorded two goals and two assists last week to receive the honor. Frye's goal early in the second half sealed a 3-2 victory over Keene State on Monday. On Wednesday, the midfielder was part of both goals scored for the Colonels tallying an assist on the first goal and finding the back of the net for the second, propelling Curry to a 2-0 win over Mass. Maritime.

Drons broke out in a huge way for Curry last week, notching three goals in a 2-1-0 week for the Colonels. Drons also notched both of Curry's CCC victory over Western New England on Saturday, the Colonel's first conference win of the season.

All three players earned their awards for the first time this season.
