Curry College Athletics and its varsity teams participated in a wide variety of community service projects and initiatives in the first half of the 2021-22 academic year. Below is a complete list for each team.
Athletics
- Team IMPACT - A handful of Curry's varsity teams featured Team IMPACT players on their rosters. These players are listed under each team.
- New Student Move-In - Curry fall student-athletes who had moved in early for preseason practice assisted in new student move-in day.
Baseball
- Milton Monster Dash - The team volunteered at the local 5k to benefit the Sam Cichello Memorial Fund, which was created in 1999 in memory of Sam Cichello, a Milton elementary school student who died following a tragic playground accident.
- Donation Drive for Sojourner House - Curry baseball teamed up with the football program to raise donations for a local homeless shelter.
Men’s Basketball
- Milton Road Race - The team volunteered at the local road race to support the Milton Junior Woman's Club.
- Mike's 5K to Crush Substance Abuse - The team volunteered at the 5k named in memory of Milton resident Michael Mulcahy, who died in 2016 after a 10-year fight against addiction.
Women’s Basketball
- Rodman Ride For Kids - Curry women's basketball volunteered on the cleanup crew for the annual bike ride that raises funds for over 40 youth-focused non-profit organizations.
Cheerleading:
- Rodman Ride For Kids - The team cheered for finishers at the annual bike ride that raises funds for over 40 youth-focused non-profit organizations.
Women's Cross Country:
- Girls on the Run Boston 5k - Curry women's cross country volunteered at the finish line of the 5k in support of the local non-profit that aims to "inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running."
Football
- Team IMPACT: Chris Cartwright
- Donation Drive for Sojourner House - Curry football teamed up with the baseball program to raise donations for a local homeless shelter.
Men’s Ice Hockey:
- Seventh Annual Teddy Bear Toss - The men's ice hockey program raised funds for Christmas in the City, and hundreds of teddy bears flew on the ice just 1:38 into the game when Curry scored its first goal.
- Boston Junior Huskies Skill Nights - The Curry men's and women's ice hockey teams came together to run weekly clinics for a local youth team at the Canton Ice House.

Men’s Lacrosse
- Walk to Fight Suicide - The team both volunteered at and then participated in the walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
- Call To Honor Triathlon - The men's lacrosse program volunteered at the triathlon held in honor of Captain Rick Cashin, a Massachusetts state trooper who lost his life in the line of duty in 2009.
Men’s Soccer
- Team IMPACT - Mateo Sodano - Mateo was introduced with Curry's starting lineups at home games, and the team raked leaves for the Sodano family in November.
- Donation to Peace Passers - The men's soccer team donated used gear to the non-profit organization Peace Passers to be donated to communities around the globe that have limited access to proper gear. Curry's donation went to a youth team in Fond Parisienne, Haiti.
Women’s Soccer:
- Team IMPACT: Emily Gallo - Emily participated in numerous team events, and the women's soccer team cheered on Emily's team at her high school games.
- C.O.R.E. - The women's soccer team initiated a mentorship program with an eighth grade class at Whitman Middle School.
- Pink Game - The Colonels hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness game on Homecoming weekend to benefit Making Strides Boston.
- Fresh Check Day - Curry women's soccer volunteered and ran booths at Curry's annual mental health awareness day.
Softball
- Fresh Check Day - The softball team volunteered and ran booths at Curry's annual mental health awareness day.
Men’s & Women's Tennis
- Tenacity Clinics - The men's and women's tennis programs came together to host a clinic for inner-city children through local non-profit Tenacity.
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
- NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign - SAAC participated in the NCAA's annual social media campaign to promote diversity and inclusion within the Curry College Athletic Department.
- Donation Drive for Sojourner House - Along with the Curry baseball and football programs, SAAC raised donations for a local homeless shelter.
- Midnight Madness - SAAC hosted a special late-night pep rally to kick off the men's and women's basketball seasons.
