No Spectator Statement From Director of Athletics Vinnie Eruzione

Dear Alumni and Friends of Curry Athletics,

It is with great excitement that we begin competing in our first contests in more than a year. A lot of planning and preparation has gone into this upcoming season, and we are hopeful for a successful spring. I could not be happier for our student-athletes as they can finally compete in the game they have worked so hard to play.

We have two primary goals for this spring. First, we want to continue to keep all our students here on campus so they can continue to enjoy the full college experience. Attending in-person classes is vital to the success of the student and the campus as a whole. Our second goal is to keep our student-athletes playing throughout the spring and hopefully compete in a CCC Championship in late April or early May.

To reach these goals, we have decided as a College and along with the Commonwealth Coast Conference, to not allow spectators at our events. I know this isn't easy, but we feel it will give us the best opportunity to meet these goals successfully. The decision is something that all of the athletic directors in the Conference have agreed to do and feel is vital for their success this season. It is important to note that the CCC has reinforced to its member schools that it may be necessary to cease competition in the event that spectators attend and refuse to leave the games.

We will be web streaming all our home contests, so please tune in and watch the Colonels in action this spring. Our current plans foresee a normal fall semester with a regular sports season, and we'd love nothing more than to see you on our sidelines helping us root for our Colonels.

Thank you for understanding.

Stay Safe,

Vinnie Eruzione
