SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Curry College freshman Amanda Leal (Tyngsboro, Mass.) was named as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of women's basketball, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon.

Leal got her collegiate career off to an impressive start registering the first double-double of her career. She scored 22 points and grabbed 13 boards as the Colonels dropped their opener to Framingham State as part of the Curry College Tip-Off Tournament. She then scored six points and grabbed nine rebounds against Eastern Nazarene. For her efforts, Leal was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Curry (0-2 overall) will host Pine Manor College on Thursday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m.
