Vizzo, Ketola Honored By CCC in Weekly Awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Junior Billy Vizzo (Shelton, Conn.) has been recognized as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week while classmate Justin Ketola (Cloquet, Minn.) has been named as the CCC Goaltender of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Vizzo continued his streak of eight-straight games with at least a point since joining the team in January. He scored three total points in the Colonels' weekend series against Nichols, which came into the weekend at the top of the CCC standings. He factored into both of Curry's goals in a 2-2 deadlock on Friday (Jan. 25) with a goal and an assist. He then scored the tying goal with under two minutes remaining in regulation to force overtime on Saturday (Jan. 26). The Colonels would pick up the game-winner in the extra frame.

Ketola picks up his second CCC Goaltender of the Week award after he helped Curry pick up three key points in the CCC standings this week as he and the Colonels went 1-0-1 in their conference matchup with Nichols. He made 29 saves in a tie to open the series, playing all 65 minutes and surrendering two goals. He denied 33 Bison opportunities the next night allowing his team to come-from-behind and earn the victory in overtime. He finished the week with a 1.86 goals against average and a .939 save percentage.

Vizzo, Ketola, and Curry (11-6-3 overall, 6-4-2 CCC) return to action on Friday, February 1 at Wentworth at 7:00 p.m.
