Sweeney Leads Women's Cross Country at the James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Curry College women's cross country team placed 26th overall out of 39 teams on Saturday morning in the James Earley Invitational at Westfield Stanley Park.

Williams placed first with an overall score of 46 points. Curry placed 25th overall with a team score of 794 points.

Curry was led by sophomore Leigha Sweeney (Braintree, Mass.) who placed 157th with a time of 22:15.  Sweeney was followed by freshman Abigail Ceresi (North Kingstown, R.I.), 22:24 (164th), sophomore Megan Erickson (Westbrook, Conn.), 23:36 (222nd), freshman Lydia Hixson (West Hartford, Conn.), 23:50 (238th), junior Jessica Leary (Pembroke, Mass.), 23:59 (242nd), senior Molly Simon, 25:08 (282nd), sophomore Shannon Hickey (Salem, N.H.), 26:56 (316th) and junior Victoria Norton (Fairfield, Conn.), 27:37 (329th).

The Colonels next meet is on Saturday, October 19, at the Western New England Invitational on the campus of Western New England University at 10:30 am.
