Women's Volleyball Blanked 3-0 by Visiting Framingham State in Non-Conference Action

MILTON, Mass. – Visiting Framingham State topped Curry College, 3-0, in a non-conference women's volleyball contest Saturday afternoon in Milton. Framingham improved to 17-4 overall, while Curry fell to 8-14.

In the first set, the Rams knocked off the Colonels, 25-14. Curry led through most of the second set, but Framingham rallied from behind for a 27-25 win. In the last set, the Rams held off the Colonels, 25-15.

The visitors were led by freshman Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) with a match-best 15 kills. Junior Maribeth Martin (Barnstable, Mass.) dished out a match-high 24 assists, while freshman Sara Malicka (Southington, Conn.) chipped in with 15 digs.

Freshman Alyssa Keeney (Coventry, Conn.) led Curry with team-bests in kills (7) and digs (11), while classmate Lauren Gaffney (Wallingford, Conn.) also recorded 11 digs. Freshman Makayla Hughes (Franklin, N.H.) helped out with 14 assists.

Both teams return to action on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., as the Colonels host CCC rival Salve Regina, while the Rams visit Bridgewater State for a MASCAC contest.
